Leveled Reading

I am so excited about this feature! It's at the very bottom of my page. You can type in the title of a children's book, author, or keyword and find out what reading level it is for your child. It's just the teacher in me that gets so excited. This would be helpful in your summer reading. In fact, look for helpful tips on extending your reading with your child this summer on my blog in a few days. I am teaching a mini-class on this tomorrow night to some friends with kids.

That's great! But how do you find out what level your child is / should be reading on???

I have a chart that tells what level they could be reading at (from my teaching days). If your child is reading 90 percent of the words then that book is just right. If it's less than 90 percent, then it's too hard and they will get really frustrated. I will be posting some more information on my blog by the end of the week. Email me and I can help you with more specifiics.
